PTA是学校有效运作的一个重要组成部份，是我们所有家长和老师的团体。欢迎大家参加我们的活动，更欢迎大家参加我们的核心团队。 The PTA is an important part of the smooth operations of the school. It is an organization by all parents and teachers of our school. We invite you to participate in our activities, and also to join our core team.
同时，各班的PTA lead也很重要。请家长和老师们马上选出各班的PTAlead并报到PTA（pta@nwchinese.org）。PTA lead是班里老师的好帮手，也是老师和家长之间的重要桥梁，为孩子们营造好的学习环境起重要作用，也是给孩子们言传身教为社区服务的一个好机会。The class PTA lead is also an important help to the classroom teacher and parents. We encourage everyone class to elect a PTA lead and report to pta@nwchinese.org, as soon as possible.
在本学年未来的九个月里，PTA将为大家带来各种活动，请大家留意我们的每周通讯，并欢迎大家参与和支持。The PTA will bring a variety of activities through the next 9 months. Please watch our announcements. We invite everyone to participate.

西北中文学校家长读书会召集啦！
在孩子上中文课的时候，家长还可以做什么？如果您愿意和家长们一起读读书、聊聊天，欢迎参加“西北中文学校家长读书会”！这学期我们从《P.E.T.父母效能训练》开始，用大约六周时间阅读学习。之后读什么书由家长们讨论决定。
P.E.T. (Parent Effectiveness Training)父母效能训练由美国的人本主义心理学家托马斯.戈登博士(Dr. Thomas Gordon)在1962年创建，半个多世纪以来这本书已经被翻译成三十多种语言，影响了全世界五十多个国家的数百万家庭。P.E.T.方法简单明了、有效实用，已经由无数家庭验证。P.E.T.旨在向父母传授与孩子有效沟通的技巧，用“没有输家”的方式面对冲突，建立家庭中互相尊重、自我负责的健康关系。您可以既学即用，同时领会技巧背后深刻的人本主义信念，P.E.T.亦术亦道，值得您学习！
