Dear NWCS Members,

I want to share with you some highlights from our recent accomplishments by our board and our new school admin team.

• We secured a two-year contract with Lake Washington Technical College . We are also working with LWTC to expand our relationship to other areas.
• We had a strong summer program led by Shen Ying and her team. We stood together and fought back some earlier set-backs. In the end, we achieved profit this summer.
• We also introduced some new teaching materials for our higher grade students. With more enriched materials, we are confident that we will reach a higher standard for our teaching and learning. We have a strong enrollment this year. We have about 1000 students enrolled this semester.
• Finally, we welcome Zhengron Duan (Vice Principal), Shannon Chen (Assistant Principal), and Yao Fu (Bookkeeper) as part of our new school admin team.

 In order for us to move forward, I would like to call an all-parent meeting on Oct. 6 from 11:00 to 12:30PM. The key agenda is to fill vacant board membership and PTA Chair. 

•   The board membership is a volunteer position. The board will accept your bio by Oct. 3.
•   We are also re-establishing our PTA team. PTA team is vital to our success. June Hu, the past Chair of our PTA, and many PTA volunteers have done excellent jobs in helping the school attract more donations, raising funds for our children, coordinating fun activities, as well as managing our libraries. Now, it is your turn to shine and contribute to our community. We are looking for nominees for the PTA Chair, and Vice Chairs (managing library, managing fund raising, and coordinating fun activities). The deadline for nominees is Oct. 3.  
• The Board will also hold a regular, open meeting to discuss other issues related to our school after the elections. We welcome all parents to attend this open meeting.
• Last, but not least, I want to thank those parents who signed as our PTA leads in your respective classes and those just functioned as school patrols yesterday!!! Your effort will make this school better and stronger!
