Students and parents can borrow videotapes for one week; and books, cassettes, or magazines for two weeks.

NWCS library is devoted to providing services to NWCS students, parents and teachers, and to the local Chinese community at large. It is run entirely by the volunteers. The library is in need of more volunteers. If you would like to help, please stop by at the library and let us know.

To improve library management and service, some rule changes will be implemented starting this school year. Here are the highlights:

  1. An account needs to be set up in order to check out library materials. A $10 deposit is required to open the account. Deposit will be refunded when all checked out materials are returned in good condition AND the account is closed.
  2. We are asking you to donate 50¢ per tape or VCD per week for the library to invest new video/audio media. Maximum of 5 medias (or one set of serial story) can be checked out per account, per week.
  3. In order to serve you better and have equal opportunity to every member, a late fee will be charged for videos: 50¢ per media for the first week, and $1 for each additional week.

We hope these changes will reduce the number of materials lost and have popular items available to more people.

The library currently has over 1000 books/cassettes and 1000 video media. Many of those were donated by students and parents. If you have any comments, suggestions, and donations to the library, please contact: library@nwchinese.org or call the following number: (425)653-5587.

Thank you for all of your support and donations. We are looking forward to meeting you in the library and serving you better.
