Here are four major Math Competitions NWCS
participated in 2006:
1. 2006 MATHCOUNTS National

NWCS teacher Qun Li was named as 2006 Washington State
MATHCOUNTS coach. He led four top Washington Middle
Schoolers (7th and 8th graders) went to Washington
D.C. on May 12th. The state team won 2nd place in the
nation (Coach Li won a PDA and a graphing calculator).
Two of the team members are/were NWCS students (all of
them got a TI 84+ Silver Edition Graphing Calculator
as well). They are,
Joy Zheng and Lawrence Xing.
Both of them went into top 50 individuals in the
nation. Also, Joy won the top individual for the girls
with $3500 full scholarship to Mathpath summer camp.
2. Washington State MathIsCool Masters (4th to 6th
graders).

On May 20th, at Spokane, some of NWCS students
participated 2006 4th to 6th graders' MIC State
Masters round. Here are the results:

4. 2006 Nationwide Rocket City Math League 3 round
contests:
From Nov, 05 to April, 06, NWCS had 45 students from
5th to 9th grade participated 3 levels of competition
with RocketCity Math League contests. Here are the
